There’s something so special about getting to photograph a proposal.
Clay and Lilly started the night with dinner at Dauphins. From there, Clay walked Lilly over to Bienville Square, completely unaware of what was waiting for her.
Set up in the square were marquee letters from Mobile Marquee, lighting up the evening and helping set the scene for the sweetest surprise. Clay had planned the whole thing, and watching Lilly realize what was happening was one of those moments you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.
She was completely surprised, and the two of them had the sweetest reaction once the secret was finally out. We spent the rest of the evening around Bienville Square capturing the excitement and fun!
I love proposals for exactly this reason. There is so much genuine emotion! You get to document the moment exactly as it unfolds, from the nervous anticipation before the question to the excitement afterward.
