hey, i'm skylar!
What started as a fun hobby throughout my life turned into something I could not imagine not doing. Over the years, I’ve grown alongside my camera, learning not only how to photograph people, but how to create a style that feels completely my own.
My husband Ryan and I are both from Mobile, Alabama, and could not imagine living anywhere else. We are stunned by the amazing sunsets and love living so close to the beautiful coast. We love the southern hospitality here and hanging out with our amazing friends. In our free time, we love going to Fairhope or Dauphin Island to watch the sunset, going to Pensacola to explore, travelling, going to concerts, or finding the best pizza restaurant around. Sometimes Ryan will second shoot weddings with me! We have two ragdoll cats, Button & Muffin. :)
Outside of Captured By Skylar, I also work in my church’s communications department, where I get to use my God-given talents through photography and social media to help connect our church community. I’m incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to use creativity in both my work and my ministry. I am thankful to have been given the talent of creativity from the Creator himself, and I want to use it to glorify Him. My husband serves at our church playing the drums in our Sunday service :)
Photography has given me a way to combine two things I love most: creativity & connection. Every couple, family, wedding, and story is different, and I don’t take it lightly that you’re trusting me to document yours.
